Inside City Hall: The Fire Department
The Saco Fire Department was organized in 1834. The department has 3 stations:
Central station built in 2009-2010, is located on North Street. Today it houses three class A pumpers, one ladder, one brush truck, two rescues, two service vehicles and a rescue boat.
The North Saco station was built in 1974 on the Rocky Hill Road. It houses two class A pumpers.
The Camp Ellis station was built in 1993. It is located on the Bayview Road and houses one class A pumper.

Personnel include a career force of 35 and a call force of 42. We cover an area of 37 square miles, with 3 miles of ocean and 8 miles of the Saco River. We serve a population of about 17,000.
