Parks and Rec launches online registration system

In October of 2010 the Parks & Recreation Department went live with a new registration system for programs. This web based system now allows the department to not only more effectively administer programs but also has a number of added benefits for the public. The public can now create a household account and have complete access to all of our program offerings as well as being able to view their whole history of program activity with us. In addition we are now able to send e-mail notifications to families based on programs they are registered for, take payments using both credit and debit cards, and offer the convenience of online registration for parents.

Currently we have a total of 2,102 residents and 450 non-residents signed up for a total of 2,550 members. These members account for 7,921 resident registrations and 843 non-resident registrations for a total of 8,764 registrations. Based on only resident numbers we are serving 12% of Saco's population through our program offerings. This number will increase when our Summer Camp registrations are complete in mid June.

From October 2010 to March 24, 2011 the Parks & Recreation Department has generated $195,370 in revenue through this registration system. To date we have taken in $357,998.47 in revenue for fiscal year 2011.
