What's new on the website?
Below you'll find a list of recent additions to the City of Saco website, as well as some timely favorites:
  • Replacement councilor sought for Ward 4
    The City is seeking a replacement for Ward 4 City Councilor Jeff Christenbury who has resigned.

  • Compost sale
    The city's annual compost sale begins May 3 and runs until July 1. You can purchase it at the transfer station for $3/cubic yard, up to 3 yards maximum. For details, see the news item

  • Loans for energy efficient improvements
    The City of Saco is working with Efficiency Maine to get low interest loans for homeowners who wish to improve the energy efficiency of their homes. For more details, follow the link above.

  • Household hazardous waste collection days
    Saco, Scarborough, Old Orchard Beach and Biddeford and collaborating to help residents safely dispose of common household hazardous wastes. The first of three disposal days is scheduled for May 7. For more details, follow this link

  • FAQ of the month: Streets: Does the City offer a Spring Clean up of roadside debris cleanup?

    Answer:No. We do not provide an annual spring roadside collection. All limbs need to be brought to the transfer station using your pass allowing a maximum of 3 cubic yards. Anything over will be charged at the rate of $6.00 per cubic yard.

    Leaves and grass can be dropped off free of charge. They should be brought in paper or recycling/bio bags. Any other kind of bag will need to be opened before its contents can be left. Sand can be brought to the public works department by residents, not commercial operators.

  • Pay bills ONLINE, not INLINE
    No one likes waiting in line, especially not to pay a bill. Don't forget, you can pay your city real estate and personal property tax bills online, as well as some utility bills. Just follow the link above.
