Property Tax & Rent Refund Programs
The Tax and Rent refund programs are run by the State of Maine. We do have forms here at City Hall available after August 1 each year.

These circuit breaker plans are an important part of the State of Maine's goal to lessen property taxes paid by Maine citizens.

There are three important changes to these programs for the coming years.

First, the filing deadline has been extended to May 31st.

Second, the benefit base for a single-member households is $3,000 and the benefit base for 2 or more households is $4,000.

Third, the maximum payment has been increased to $2,000.

In summary if you did not qualify in years past, check again since you may be eligible this year.
