Per the City Charter, on March 21, 2005 the City Administrator will present the City Council with the fiscal year 2006 budget for city services. On this same night, the Superintendent of Schools will also present the school budget. It is not until some time in April that the two budgets are combined and looked at simultaneously for combined tax impacts. to view details of the City budget being proposed by the City Administrator, follow this link.

It is important to note that this budget being presented is in compliance with the recently passed State legislation called "Public Law 2 (previously known as LD 1), as the levy limitation is being met with a city levy increase of only 5.03%. See the related article on "Public Law 2" also within this month's newsletter.
