News from the City Clerk's Office

Greetings:

Mark your calendar for the Municipal General/Referendum and the State Referendum Election scheduled for November 6, 2007. The polling places will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

To review the races for local candidates and the Bond Question please go to www.sacomaine.org and then click on Election Day under Latest News. Ballot information for all seven wards is available for your review. Information regarding the state ballot also has a link under Latest News. I hope that these links will be helpful.

The City Clerk's and Voter Registration office has relocated to the space formerly occupied by the Assessing Department. For those of you who are not familiar with the building, we may be found in Room 106, which is on the first floor as you enter from Cutts St.

With the relocation of the department has made changes in the way we conduct business regarding the following:

Vital Statistics - Birth, Death and Marriage
Business License Registrations
Mooring/Wait List Mooring Applications

Should you need assistance for any of the above duties, please come in to see Michele or me. We will be glad to assist you.

The phone number for the office, 284-4831, will remain the same.

Should residents need assistance pertaining to taxes, motor vehicle registration, hunting and fishing licenses you should contact the Finance Department at 282-1032.

Please remember to license your dog (s) prior to Jan 30th in order to avoid late fees which are mandatory under State Law.
