2009 Summer Teen Programs
Registration Begins Monday May 4th at the Saco Community Center for both programs! For ages 12 to 16 years old.


Outdoor Summer Bonanza (OSB)
Biddeford Recreation and Saco Parks & Recreation have once again joined forces to provide one of the areas most popular teen programs. Join us again this year for Tuesday and Wednesday mornings and Thursday Field Trips. You can register for the whole summer, just a week or just for a trip. Priority is given to those signing up for the whole summer. Some trips will sell out!

Tuesday & Wednesday from 9:00 am to Noon - Saco residents will be bused to Rotary Park for a morning of fun activities, swimming and use of Biddeford's Teen Center.

Thursdays are field trip days!
  • July 9th - Ropes Course YMCA
  • July 16th - Water Country
  • July 23rd - Mineralogy Expedition and Tubing
  • July 30th ET Bike Tour
  • August 6th - Canoe Trip
  • August 13th - Canobie Lake Park
  • Trips are subject to change & there are a limited number of spots per community. We have sold out the last three years!
Drop off in Saco for OSB is 8:30 am on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, Thursday are per trip.

Fees for this program:
  • $195.00 for all Tuesday & Wednesday Mornings Plus All Field Trips
  • $42.00 for Individual Weeks including the Field Trip
  • $30.00 for Individual Trips only
OSB is a contracted program so no fee waivers will be available. The full fee is due before the start of the program. A spot will not be held without payment.

Total Summer Blowout! - June 22nd - August 28th This extended teen camp can be used in conjunction with the OSB program above or as a stand alone program. We will cover Mondays, Tuesday & Wednesday afternoons and Fridays. The program will be held at the Saco Community Center.

Activities include Mall Trips, Mini Golf, Movies, Beach Trips, Bike Trips, Fishing and Golfing. We also hope to include Teen Cooking lessons, learning a little Spanish, French and Sign Language as well as a Reading Club! Once a week we will do a small community service project. This would include such things as reading to our younger camps or helping out at one of our programs. We also hope to have a working garden at the community center for the teens to experience.

This program is very flexible. We let the teens talk about and pick what they would like to do and where they would like to go. All trips are included in your fees!

  • Monday & Fridays - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
  • Tuesday & Wednesday - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm non OSB weeks / Noon to 4:30 pm OSB weeks
  • Thursday - No coverage OSB weeks / 8:30 am to 4:30 pm non OSB weeks
Fees
Full summer not including OSB $500.00 - that's 10 weeks of summer camp and a savings of $100 off the weekly fee!
Weekly - Non OSB Weeks - 6/22, 6/29, 8/17 & 8/24 - $75.00
Weekly - OSB Weeks - 7/6, 7/13, 7/20, 7/27, 8/3 & 8/10 - $50.00
We do not offer Daily Fees for this program.
