A Newsletter by the City of Saco, MaineMay, 2010Return to newsletter index

What's new on the website?
Below you'll find a list of recent additions to the City of Saco website, as well as some timely favorites:
  • Summer camp time
In case you missed it earlier in this newsletter, summer camp time is nearly upon us and the Parks and Recreation Department has lots of exciting opportunities. In addition to the usual camp options, there's also a mini golf tour, soccer camp and surfing lessons. So be sure to check out the Parks and Rec Department for your children's summer fun.

  • Compost on sale
Remember those leaves you hauled to the transfer station last fall? Well, they've been composting all winter and now they're ready to help your vegetable or flower garden. Spring is here and that means the city's annual compost sale has begun. If you've got garden beds that need some nutrients, this stuff can't be beat. And at $3 a cubic yard, there's nothing cheaper out there. For more information about where and when to get it, just follow the link above.

  • Budget time
We are wrapping up the budget process for Fiscal Year 2011. There will be a public hearing on May 3 with the final adoption of the budget schedule for May 17. There is still time to get involved if you are interested. Just visit the page above for more information.

  • Lost in the cyber city hall? The city's website has grown significantly over the past few years. While we've made an effort to make navigating the site as easy as possible, we know it can still be confusing. If you aren't finding what you're looking for, we want to help. You can try the link above -- this will take you to a list of commonly requested resources in the city. You can also try the Help Desk, which contains frequently asked questions and a way to pose questions to different departments. If all else fails, please feel free to contact our our webmaster.

  • Pay bills ONLINE, not INLINE
No one likes waiting in line, especially not to pay a bill. Don't forget, you can pay your city real estate and personal property tax bills online, as well as some utility bills. Just follow the link above.

  • Portable dishwasher
If you're tired of washing the dishes by hand and you just can seem to motivate your spouse/significant other/children to do the job for you, maybe you need a dishwasher. There's one for free in the Swap Shop. Just follow this link.

  • Saco Help Desk
Got a problem? Need to answer a question? Check out the brand new Help Desk System. In an effort to better serve the citizens of Saco, we've create a single place where people can look for answers to their questions or submit a request for help. You'll get a reply within one business day and you'll be able to follow progress of your request through this system.
